Most girls love cheerleading. It is a complicated, multifaceted process. Learning the cheers individually and then getting the group to be able to perform the cheer accurately is a significant accomplishment. So why not combine the fun of cheerleading with a party?

Cheerleading Invitations
Of course, cheerleading invitations and thank you notes are abundant. Pick out invitations that will match the colors to be used in the decor. Consider providing each girl with a set of pom poms and a “team” shirt. Make shirts using plain white t-shirts and markers. Or for a more professional look, make an iron on with a printer and iron them on the shirts. Have the guest of honor pick out two or three cheers for the guest to learn. Let her teach them to the group as the entertainment.

Party Games
When the cheerleading girls run low on energy, entertain them by showing tapes of cheerleading competitions. An adult needs to be handy so that kids do not try any of the complicated tumbles or throws associated with the sport.

Cheerleading Party Supplies
Prepare the table with color coordinated accessories that match the cheerleading costumes. Hang pom poms from the edges of the table. Purchase a cake that is decorated in a cheerleading theme or with the colors used in the decor.

When the cheerleading party is over make sure the guest of honor does her duty with the Thank You cards. Learning proper etiquette is essential, even at a young age. While Mom and Dad can help the young cheerleader needs to personalize each card herself.

This January have a spirit filled cheerleading theme party at your home with pomp pomp’s as center pieces and as party favors. Have piñatas as well as candy and lollipops for everyone. Play board games and have contests and trivia games. Give the winners goodie bags with school supplies and enjoy.
